Hyderabad, Oct 4: G Niranjan, TPCC Senior Vice President and Chairman of the Election Commission Coordination Committee, expressed disappointment at the Election Commission’s decision to release the final voters list despite the objections raised by the Congress party.

In a media statement issued on Wednesday, Niranjan disclosed that during a meeting with the EC in Hyderabad on Tuesday, the Congress party had requested the postponement of the final voters list publication until all applications had been addressed, and discrepancies such as deceased, multiple, and relocated voters had been rectified. The Congress party had submitted a detailed list of these discrepancies to the Election Commission.

However, Niranjan asserted that the final voters list announced on this day still contains the aforementioned anomalies. He highlighted that the list, which consists of 3,17,17,389 voters, appears to have more voters than the actual number of eligible voters in the state.

In response to this development, the Congress Party plans to conduct a comprehensive survey of the final voters list to identify and document the discrepancies. Subsequently, they intend to take the matter to the Hon’ble High Court to seek justice.
