Nagpur, Dec 9 – Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Friday said that the functioning of the Maharashtra Legislative Council will be a guide for the next generation.
Discussions in the Council has always been a guide for the country, he said, and called for promoting the development of the state through such positive discussions.
He was speaking on the occasion of Maharashtra Vidhan Parishad Centenary. A seminar was organised on the topic ‘Contribution of Winter Session in Maharashtra Legislature Parliamentary Process’ in the Legislative Council Hall.
On the occasion, the Deputy Chairman of Legislative Council Dr. Neelam Gorhe, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Chandrakant Patil, Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council Ambadas Danve, Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council Vijay Wadettiwar, Rajendra Gawai and members of the Legislative Council, senior journalists were present.
Shinde further said that there is an opportunity to express ideas in the council hall. “We come to the House to give justice to the people, to solve their problems. Maharashtra is leading in all sectors as well as in parliamentary functioning. Today’s centenary event, which is being held in a historical building, is also going to be historic. The parliamentary tradition of the state is glorious and world-renowned.
In this tradition, the Chief Minister said that Nagpur’s winter session enriches the parliamentary tradition.
