Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Nov 27 – The police fraternity as well as several political and social outfits here on Sunday commemorated 15th anniversary of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.
City police commissioner Manoj Lohia and other top brass cops gathered at the police headquarters and paid floral tributes to uniform personnel who were killed in action.
They remembered Major Sandip Unnikrishnan, Anti-Terrorism Squad chief Hemant Karkare, ACP Ashok Kamte, inspector Vijay Salaskar and constable Tukaram Ombale and others who laid down their lives while taking Mumbai back from the band of Pakistani terrorists.
Rural superintendent of police and his colleagues also paid homage to the bravehearts at Rural SP office here.
Also, political and social outfits had erected stages, placed portraits of the martyrs and sang patriotic songs in their memory.
Chhatrapati Sambhaijnagar Congress leadership offered respect in a similar way at Gandhi Bhavan here.
Reports reaching here from other seven districts of Marathwada stated that the day was also observed through such in memoriam functions.
