New Delhi, Nov 01 – The counsel for BJP MP and Former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh argued in the ACMM Court that it lacks jurisdiction to try offences allegedly committed outside India. Singh is facing charges in an alleged sexual harassment case. The counsel contended that no sanction under section 188 Cr.P.C. has been obtained, and the offences are distinct and complete outside India. The court granted three weeks for the submission of written arguments and scheduled the next hearing for November 22 to 24.

The ACMM Court had earlier taken cognizance of the chargesheet filed by Delhi Police, which includes charges under sections 354, 354A, 354D, and 506 of the IPC. The charges relate to assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty, sexual harassment, stalking, and criminal intimidation. The court had issued summons against Singh and his Assistant Secretary Vinod Tomar.
