Bengaluru, Nov 18: In an indirect reference to BY Vijayendra’s appointment as the Karnataka BJP President, senior party leader Basanagouda Patil Yatnal on Friday said the party should not become a part of one family.
“The central observers were not aware of many truths. Others are scared to talk, but in the interest of justice and political ethics, I divulged to them what all had happened in Karnataka … I told them that the party should not become a part of one family. Neither the BJP workers or Hindutva activists will not accept it,” he told reporters here.
Both the BJP and Hindutva brigade will endorse it, Yatnal said ahead of legislature party meeting to appoint the Leader of Opposition in the state assembly, which has been lying vacant since May.
The senior BJP leader also demanded that the LoP should hail from North Karnataka. He made these statements to mediapersons after meeting party’s central oberservers Nirmala Sitharaman, Dushyant Kumar Gautam and Karnataka BJP General Secretary (organisation) GV Rajesh.
Yatnal also said that he has revealed to the central party leaders about adjustment politics played by some of the partymen and betrayal of few others, costing the party in the last assembly election.
He brought to the notice of the central leaders about the party becoming centralised to just one class of people.
Yatnal also said attempts were made to woo him with money. “Yesterday an agent approached me. He wanted to purchase me. But I replied that I can buy 10 such people. Such cheap things are done,” he added.
