Patna, Dec 19 – Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday ordered the authorities concerned to look into possibilities of reopening of Riga sugar mill.
Kumar during weekly programme of ” Janata Darbar” organised for redressal of public grievances, directed the authorities concerned to take all possible steps for reopening of Riga sugar mill.
He was responding to grievance of one Ranjit Kumar Mishra who had demanded for taking steps to reopen Riga sugar mill.
Mishra had pointed out that more than five thousand farmers would get benefits if Riga sugar mill was opened again.
Riga sugar mill was closed since long which affected the interests of farmers of the area, he stated.
One Guddu Prasad of Gopalganj district drew the attention of Chief Minister Kumar towards the fact that not a single penny was paid to farmers by Sasamusa sugar mill from the year 2017-18 to 2020-21 against purchasing of sugarcane. Another person Manju Devi requested the Chief Minister Kumar to order for construction of service road and drain along Buxar Patna fourlane in Nuaon Panchayat in Dumraon block of Buxar district.
She said that underpass was being constructed but no effort was being made for construction of service lane and drain.
Chief Minister directly interacted with 78 people and directed authorities concerned for redressal of their grievances. A host of Ministers and senior officials of departments concerned were present on the occasion.
