“Indian Men’s Hockey Team Secures Semifinal Berth in Asian Games with a Dominant 12-0 Victory Over Bangladesh”

The Indian Men’s Hockey Team clinched a spot in the semifinals of the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 with an impressive 12-0 win against Bangladesh. This victory marked a flawless performance in the pool stage, with India securing five wins in all five matches and topping the table.

Harmanpreet Singh (2′, 4′, 32′) and Mandeep Singh (18′, 24′, 46) led the charge with remarkable hat-tricks, while Abhishek (41′, 57) scored a brace for India. Lalit Kumar Upadhyay (23′), Amit Rohidas (28′), Nilakanta Sharma (47′), and Gurjant Singh (56′) also contributed with one goal each.

From the early moments, India established their dominance with Harmanpreet Singh converting penalty corners in the 2nd and 4th minutes to take a 2-0 lead. The relentless Indian team continued to press, denying Bangladesh any opportunities to make inroads into their circle.

The second quarter witnessed Mandeep Singh and Lalit Kumar Upadhyay extending India’s lead to 5-0. The halftime score stood at 6-0 after Amit Rohidas showcased his drag-flick prowess.

In the third quarter, Harmanpreet Singh completed his hat-trick, and Abhishek added another goal, taking India’s lead to 8-0. The final quarter saw an onslaught of goals, with Mandeep Singh, Nilakanta Sharma, Gurjant Singh, and Abhishek contributing to the 12-0 victory.

With this remarkable win, the Indian Men’s Hockey Team is set to compete in the semifinals on Wednesday.
