Hyderabad, Nov 18: The sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday caught TSSPDCL Additional Divisional Engineer working in KPHB Sub Division of Kondapur Division here when he was accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000.

At about 1220 hous, the DE B Udaya Kumar was caught by ACB when he demanded and accepted the bribe amount of Rs.50,000 through one B.Koti Reddy, Artisan Grade-11, TSSPDCL, KPHB Sub-Division from the complainant Thalia Praveen, Contract Supervisor in Electricity Department to perform an official work.
The DE demanded the bribe to sanction Additional electricity load and installation of commercial DTR (Transformer) pertaining to Ms V Pushpalatha of KPHB for which contract work was taken up by the complainant, a ACB release said.

Both the hands of Kumar and Reddy tested positive in phenolphthalein test. The Tainted bribe amount of Rs.50,000 was recovered from the possession of the second accused.

Reddy also confessed that he received the bribe amount on the instructions of DE only.

The two accused performed their official duty improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage.

Therefore, both of them were being arrested and produced before the Rookie First Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases, Hyderabad, the release added.
In another case, at about 1308 hours this afternoon, Kallepally Srihari, Manager, Municipality Office, Luxettipet of Mancherial district and Sanda Mahender, Bill collector (OutSourcing) in the same office and the same district were caught by ACB, Adilabad Unit near the complainant’s tin shed at Itikyal village of Luxettipet Municipality when Srihari demanded and accepted the bribe of Rs.15,000 through Mahender from the complainant Akula Srinivas of Sunnambatti Colony in the same district for doing official favour.
A ACB release said the Manager demanded bribe to allot house number to the newly constructed tin shed of the complainant at Itikyal village of Luxettipet Municipality of Mancherial district”.

Srihari thereby Performed his public duty improperly and dishonestly.

The bribe amount was recovered from the possession of Mahender at his instance.

The fingers of both hands of bill collector and contact portion i.e. left side shirt pocket of him yielded positive in the chemical test.

Both were being arrested and produced before the Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases Court at Karimnagar, the release added.
