Kakinada (Andhra Pradesh), Nov 7: The Amalapuram Sub-divisional police have arrested a fraudster, who was hiring cars in the name of real estate trader and later mortgaging them for leading a lavish life.
Five cars which were mortgaged in the same fashion were seized, police said .
Giving details of the interesting case to media persons on Monday, Amalapuram DSP M Ambika Prasad said that the accused Beera Krishnamraju (40) native of Vuyyuru Vari meraka in Antarvedipalem village of Sakhinetipalli mandal in Dr Ambedkar Konaseema district has duped five car owners and hired them styling himself as the biggest real estate businessman.


The first victim was MA Hyder, resident of Suryanagar area in Amalapuram town. He gave an advertisement in OLX App that his Banelo car was available for rent .
Trusting the accused’s words, he gave his car for hire on monthly rental basis.
The accused paid the car rent for one month promptly But later on switched off his phone and despite hectic efforts he could not be traced.


The car owner lodged a complaint in Amalapuram police station on October 29.
Circle Inspector T Krantikumar and Sub-Inspector B Prabhakararao had investigated and finally nabbed him on Sunday.’ the DSP said.


Basing on the confession of the accused, the police team has recovered three cars from Ravulapalem and two more from Pandalapaka village of Anaparty mandal, hired and mortgaged in the same fashion.
Cases were registered against him in Undrajavaram police station in West Godavari district, Narasapuram rural police station, Vijayawada city two town police station , Visakhapatnam city PM Palem police station.
The recovered cars would be handed over to the concerned police stations for further action.
The accused was sent for judicial remand, he added.


Ambika Prasad has advised the people to strictly verify the antecedents of those approaches for hiring cars and also those before mortgaging the cars to avoid such fraudulent deeds.
