Amul has issued a warning to consumers regarding counterfeit ghee products on the market, advising them to verify the packaging for authenticity.
The company has found that certain unscrupulous distributors are peddling counterfeit ghee, particularly in one-litre refill packs, a product that Amul has not produced in more than three years.
The brand has also stated that it has not provided ghee to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam in response to claims of animal fat being present in laddoos. Amul guarantees that its ghee is sourced from ISO-certified facilities, ensuring top quality.
The company encourages customers to remain alert and inspect the packaging prior to making a purchase to confirm they are acquiring genuine products.

Amul has adopted a Duplication Proof carton pack, which is specifically engineered to eliminate the risk of adulteration.
Additionally, it invites consumers to reach out to Amul’s toll-free number at 1800 258 3333 for any questions or issues they may have.
“This innovative packaging is created with cutting-edge aseptic filling technology at Amul’s ISO-certified dairies, guaranteeing top-notch quality standards,” informs Amul.
Many users who bought the prodduct have shared their experience online. One user wrote, “I also received fake Amul ghee from @JioMart. . I even complained to jiomart but still they said the return window is over. Because the product looked good but when I started using it smelled bad.”
Yet another comment was, “I think I saw the fake one at Reliance Smart Bazar too. The original pack is of how much liters? And why don’t you adopt scratch verification like most whey/supplement brands does? It’s indistinguishable.” One user complained, “I have been a loyal customer of Amul but recently I have been noticing that Amul Paneer has a chemical taste to it specifically one which is available in NCR (code MPN) This issue was not there in Baroda, I had no complaints there but this chemical taste is a problem in NCR.”
