Srinagar, Dec 8 – Apni Party President Altaf Bukhari has revealed his decision to contest the forthcoming parliamentary election from the Baramulla constituency in north Kashmir. This announcement, made by senior party leader Dilawar Mir during a party function in Bandipora, was reportedly reached through a consensus within the party. At the gathering, Bukhari asserted that Jammu and Kashmir is destined to remain an integral part of the country and urged the public not to be swayed by deceptive slogans from traditional political parties.
Emphasizing Apni Party’s commitment to permanent peace and harmony in the region, Bukhari outlined the party’s primary agenda. He stated that unlike traditional political parties, Apni Party does not pursue unattainable goals or engage in emotional sloganeering. Instead, the focus is on ensuring the constitutional rights of the people and creating employment opportunities for the youth.
Bukhari acknowledged the challenges faced by Jammu and Kashmir, especially the impact of the events on August 5, 2019, when the region lost its statehood and was bifurcated into two union territories. He cautioned against trusting traditional parties that claim to undo the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A, emphasizing the need for a pragmatic and development-oriented approach.
The Apni Party’s decision to field Bukhari in the parliamentary election reflects the party’s commitment to representing the aspirations of the people and working towards their socio-economic development.
