Kakinada, Nov 28 – The sleuths of Andhra Pradesh Anti corruption bureau (ACB) on Monday trapped two officials while they were accepting a bribe of Rs.23,000 from the complainant in Kakinada district.

ACB sources said the two officials – deputy Tahasildar Madaka Srinivasarao of Kirlampudi mandal and VRO Lakshmi Devi, Palem village Sachivalayam, Burugupudi village, were nabbed following the complaint lodged by Buddha Adinarayana (55), a farmer of Palem village.

ACB sources said the accused officials had demanded the bribe for processing the online mutation application and issuing the pattadar passbook for the 1.38 acres of agricultural land inherited from parents.

The deputy Tahasildar asked the complainant to pay the bribe amount to the VRO .

The VRO was trapped at the Palem sachivalayam and based on the evidence the deputy Tahasildar was also arrested.. Both of them are being produced before the designated court at Rajahmundry tomorrow, ACB sources added
