New Delhi, Dec 5 – A special court here on Monday extended the judicial custody of Rajya Sabha MP and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjay Singh in a money laundering case, related to the 2021-22 Delhi Excise Policy case, till December 11.
The court adjourned the hearing on bail application of Singh for December six.
Special Judge M K Nagpal, after hearing the submission, extended the judicial custody of Singh until December 11.
Enforcement Directorate (ED) has alleged that Singh and his associates played a part in the Delhi government’s decision to give licences to alcohol shops and merchants in 2020, causing losses to the state exchequer and violating anti-corruption laws.
Singh was arrested by the ED on October four and is presently in the judicial custody at Tihar Jail.
ED, after investigation, had filed a supplementary chargesheet on December two against Singh and his alleged associate Sarvesh Mishra in the case registered under the provisions of Prevention of Money Laundering (PMLA) related to the Excise policy.
