Nanded, Oct 5: NCP MP Supriya Sule on Thursday launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led central government, alleging that it was currently working to break the Opposition parties in the country by misusing power.

Addressing a press conference after visiting the government hospital here, she further alleged that the central government has been using agencies such as Enforcement Directorate, Income Tax and CBI to suppress the Opposition and the journalists who write against it.

She charged that BJP was working ceaselessly to defame the opponents by making false accusations.

The central government had hatched a conspiracy to destroy two regional parties in Maharashtra — the Shiv Sena founded by late Bal Thackeray and NCP founded by Sharad Pawar, she further charged.

Targeting the state government, the NCP MP held the Eknath Shinde government responsible for deaths of patients in hospitals of Nanded, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Nagpur and Thane.

Following these incidents, the minister should have resigned on moral grounds, but the unethical state

government does not have any compassion for the common people, she alleged.

Commenting on issue of reservation, Ms Sule said that everyone knows the status of reservation in Maharashtra at present.

On behalf of the Maratha, Dhangar, Lingayat communities, the movement is on to get reservation, she noted and held responsible state Home minister Devendra Fadnavis for giving permission to police to attack on peaceful agitators belonging to the Maratha comunity in Jalna district.

“Currently, instead of improving health and education in the state, the ruling Shinde-Fadnavis government is allowing the liquor shops to mushroom in the state,” she alleged and added that this was unacceptable to the culture of Maharashtra.

Earlier, Ms Sule visited the government hospital here and met with the patients there as well as the kins of the deceased patients.
