Mumbai, Oct 3: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday directed officials concerned to immediately start the process of ‘panchnama’ of soybean crops affected recently due to disease.

In a Cabinet meeting held here, the Chief Minister said that the soybean crop in nine districts of the state has been damaged by the yellow mosaic virus and the fungal disease — Khodkooz, Moolkooz.
The soybean crop in the districts of Chandrapur, Nagpur, Gadchiroli, Yavatmal, Solapur, Latur, Washim, Nanded has been affected due to heavy rainfall, variations in temperature and some other factors, he informed.

Hence, the ‘panchnama’ should be done on priority and in time, so that the government could provide massive relief to farmers whose crops were damaged due to the disease, Shinde added.
