Lt Governor Manoj Sinha Emphasizes Social Democracy and Inclusive Development in Jammu and Kashmir

Jammu, Nov 20: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha reiterated the commitment of the UT Administration to promote equitable and inclusive development based on the ideals of Dr. Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar during this month’s ‘Awaam Ki Awaaz’ program. Sinha highlighted Dr. Ambedkar’s vision of social democracy, emphasizing liberty, equality, and fraternity as principles of life. The Back to Village campaign, a unique initiative of the UT Administration, aims to bring about a paradigm shift in the rural socio-economic system, making villages a vibrant force in J&K’s development.

Sinha emphasized the role of Janbhagidari (people’s participation) in addressing challenges, citing the success of the Back to Village campaign. He shared inspiring stories of progressive farmers and individuals, including Bandna Devi of Malothi, Doda; Shafeeqa Shora of Ganderbal; and Sunita Devi of Basohli, who have made significant contributions to agriculture and rural development.

The Lt Governor lauded the efforts of individuals like Pushpinder Singh of Samba and Zahoor Ahmad of Kulgam, highlighting their innovative approaches to agriculture. He also acknowledged the suggestions received from citizens during the Awaam Ki Awaaz program, addressing issues concerning senior citizens, organizing youth parliament, promoting ethics in education, and recognizing young talents.

Sinha congratulated Sheetal Devi and Rakesh Kumar for their stellar performance in the Asian Para Games and urged the youth to draw inspiration from such achievements.
