Shimla, Nov 17: In a significant development, the first Alliance Air flight from Shimla to Amritsar has taken off from Jubberhati airport, marking the commencement of air connectivity between these two cities. The flight, which carried 35 passengers, departed from Jubberhati airport in Shimla and later returned to the same location. Before this inaugural flight, an Alliance Air flight from Delhi had landed in Shimla, further emphasizing the increased air accessibility.
Operated under the ‘Udaan Scheme,’ these flights come with the added advantage of a 50% discount on fares, providing an affordable and efficient travel option. For the Amritsar to Shimla route, the initial fare has been set at Rs 1919, applicable for the first month, followed by a regular fare of Rs 2848. Similarly, the Delhi to Shimla fare is fixed at Rs 4904, and the return journey costs Rs 5063.
The Alliance Air flight schedule includes key routes such as Delhi to Shimla, Shimla to Amritsar, Amritsar to Shimla, and Shimla to Delhi. Additionally, there are connecting flights to Dharamshala, offering passengers a comprehensive network of travel options.
The three-times-a-week flight schedule is expected to provide a significant boost to the hospitality industry in Shimla and Dharamshala.
