Doha, Oct 30: The Israeli military carried out strikes against two positions of the Syrian army in the southern part of the republic, the Syrian Defence Ministry said on Monday.
“Today, at approximately 01:35 [22:35 GMT], the Israeli enemy carried out an air attack from the occupied Syrian Golan, striking two positions of our armed forces in the vicinity of the city of Daraa, which led to material losses,” the defence ministry was quoted as saying by the Syria TV state broadcaster.
No information about potential casualties has been provided so far.
Last week, the Syrian Defence Ministry said Israel’s artillery had shelled military positions in the Daraa province, killing eight Syrian soldiers.
Israel also struck the Aleppo International Airport in Syria, damaging its runway, the ministry added.
