Suryapet, Oct 28: Union Home Minister Amit Shah made a promise that if the BJP secures victory in the upcoming assembly elections scheduled for November 30 in Telangana, a Backward Class leader will assume the role of Chief Minister.
Addressing a gathering at a meeting named “Jana Garjana” (People’s Roar) held in Suryapet on Friday, Amit Shah criticized both the BRS and Congress parties, asserting that they had failed to usher in significant development in Telangana. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the state’s progress.
Shah criticised Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for his perceived focus on grooming his son, K T Rama Rao, as the next Chief Minister, drawing a parallel with Sonia Gandhi’s hopes for her son to become Prime Minister. He accused both parties as corrupt and prioritizing their family’s interests over the welfare of the people. In contrast, Shah emphasized that the BJP, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, consistently prioritizes the welfare of the underprivileged.
Describing the BRS as anti-poor and anti-Dalit, Amit Shah raised questions about whether a Dalit leader would have the opportunity to become the Chief Minister if the BRS came to power this time.
He also voiced concerns about unfulfilled promises, including the commitment to provide 3 acres of land to Dalits, the creation of a Rs 50,000 crore Dalit welfare fund, and the Rs 10,000 crore BC welfare assurance made by KCR.
Shah pointed out that, for the first time since independence, the BC Commission was established, delivering justice to the Backward Classes. Prime Minister Modi’s commitment to the welfare of tribals includes the establishment of the Sammakka-Saralamma Central Tribal University in the state and the sanctioning of the Turmeric Board for the benefit of turmeric farmers. To protect Telangana’s rights in River Krishna water, the Modi government established the Krishna Tribunal.
Amit Shah highlighted that the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya is nearing completion, and he called for the re-election of Narendra Modi as Prime Minister.
Expressing his desire for the Bharatiya Janata Party to emerge victorious in Telangana, Amit Shah criticized the perceived limited progress under the BRS and Congress parties.
