PM Modi Steers India into a New Era of Connectivity with Inauguration of Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS Corridor and ‘Namo Bharat’ RapidX Train!

New Delhi, Oct 21: In a momentous occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked the commencement of the priority section of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS Corridor, flagging off the maiden journey of the revolutionary RapidX train connecting Sahibabad to Duhai Depot in Uttar Pradesh.

In his address to the public, Modi hailed the event as a “historic moment” that promises a significant transformation in regional connectivity. The Prime Minister emphasized the modernity, rapidity, and remarkable speed of the ‘Namo Bharat’ train, dubbing it a symbol of New India’s journey and resolutions.

Modi assured the completion of the Meerut section within the next 1.5 years, expressing commitment to serving the nation. He underlined the prowess of 21st-century India, referencing global acclaim for the Chandrayaan-3 mission.

The RRTS Corridor, a cutting-edge regional mobility solution, covers 17 kilometers, linking Sahibabad to Duhai Depot via stations at Ghaziabad, Guldhar, and Duhai. Operating at 160 kilometers per hour with a 15-minute frequency, the RAPIDX train comprises six coaches accommodating around 1,700 commuters, including a coach reserved for women.

The commencement of regular public service is set for Saturday, with the first and last trains operating from 6 AM to 11 PM. The Premium coach offers added commuter-centric features like reclining seats, coat hooks, magazine holders, and footrests.

Passenger amenities in both standard and Premium coaches include 2×2 transverse seating, luggage racks, CCTV cameras, mobile charging facilities, and an auto-controlled ambient lighting system. Standard coach tickets are priced at Rs 20, while the Premium coach comes at double the cost for an enhanced travel experience.
