Kolhapur, Oct 2: Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana (SSS) national president and former Mp Raju Shetty on Monday announced that the 22nd sugarcane convention (Uas Parishad) will be held on November 7 in Jaysinpur town of this district in Maharashtra.
Shetty told a media meet here that the convention will fix the first installment of FRP (Fair and Remunerative Price) of sugarcane for the coming crushing session.
A ‘Padyatra’ will be taken out from October 17 as part of an agitation before the residences of sugar factory owners for their failure to give the pending second installment of Rs 400 per tone of sugarcane supplied for last year’s crushing session. The agitation will end on November 7 at the place of the sugarcane convention in Jaysingpur.
