Nagpur, Dec 12 – Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Monday exhorted to students that they should cultivate the feeling of what they can contribute to the country rather than asking what they have received.

Speaking at inauguration of Golden Jubilee Parliamentary Studies Class organised at state Assembly here, he said that the purpose of this course is to understand and convey importance of parliamentary working system to people.

He further said, “Legislature has a glorious tradition. It has an energy and motivation. Many questions are discussed here. An honest effort is being made to solve the problems of people through the legislature.”

Explaining significance of the ‘Shasan Aaplya Dari’ (government-at-your-doorstep) scheme, the Chief Minister said that through this scheme, they make an effort to provide benefits of various schemes to people at their doorstep.

“The government is implementing many schemes for public welfare. Continuous efforts are being made to reach these schemes to people,” he said.

On the purpose of this class, Shinde said, “In this class, there will be an opportunity to see how the legislature works, how laws are made. All of us should do the work of reaching information about this work to the general public.”

81 students and 12 lecturers of Political Science and Public Administration from various universities of the state have participated in this year’s study class.
