Nagpur, Dec 20 – PWD Minister Ravindra Chavan on Tuesday said in the Maharashtra Assembly that people will be able to know the progress of ongoing road works in the state through a portal that will be launched soon by the Department.
Participating in a discussion on good quality of road work in the state, he said that in the state, road works are being done through various schemes like Public Works Department, Rural Development Department, Pradhan Mantri Sadak Yojana and Chief Minister Gram Sadak Yojana and pointed that their norms and rules vary accordingly.
He further said that efforts are being made to complete various pending road works in the state within
prescribed time frame by providing funds for last one and a half years, the minister said.
Due to varying geographical conditions, different type of technology is being employed at different parts of the state, he informed.
Accordingly, every stage of work is being monitored by the Department, he said.
If the repair works are not done within stipulated time frame, action will be taken against concerned contractor, added Chavan.
