Cyclone-Affected People Shifted to Rehabilitation Center in Uppada Kothapalli; District Collector Ensures Provision of Basic Necessities and Services

Kakinada, Dec 6 – As many as 300 cyclone-affected people were shifted and sheltered in a rehabilitation center arranged at the Mandal Praia Parishad school in Suradapet in Uppada Kothapalli mandal on Tuesday.


District collector Dr. Kritika Sukla who visited the cyclone-affected areas in Uppada Kothapalli mandal along with revenue officials on Tuesday said that the Uppada shore was eroded due to high tides effect and people affected by cyclone in areas such as Suradapet, Mayapatnam, Jagarajupeta, Bazaar Veedhi were shifted to the rehabilitation center.


The Collector said that all those sheltered were being provided with food, drinking water, medical facilities besides an electricity supply with the generator.


She has ordered the officials to provide milk and eggs to the children.
Later the collector herself served food to those sheltered in the rehabilitation camp. U. Kothapalli mandal Tahasildar GVS Prasad, Sarpanches of Uppada and Aminabad- Ummidi John and Manikhanta accompanied the Collector during the visit. Simultaneously the district SP S Sathish Kumar also visited the cyclone-affected areas along the coast from U Kothapalli to Thondangi alerting the villagers of the cyclone affect.


The SP said that vehicular traffic on the coastal road from Kakinada anchorage port to Thondangi area was closed and the visitors’ entry to the beach was prohibited.
