Shimla, Nov 22: Himachal Pradesh High court on Tuesday adjourned the hearing in the five Star wildflowers hall hospitality unit case till November 24 accepting the request of the counsel for the state.
An order passed by the Single judge bench of Justice Satyan Vaidya said hearing was adjourned till 2 pm on November 24 following a request from the respondent State of Himachal Pradesh.
Earlier in the day before the high court was expected to hear the matter, the counsel representing the state government submitted that senior advocate Dhruv Mehta is to lead the case on behalf of non-applicants or respondents, but he is not available today due to his pre-occupation.
The court allowed the parties to be at liberty to join through Video conference.
The counsel for the applicant East India Hotel Ltd. R.L. Sood, and Arjun Lal, Advocate,Rajaraman Shankar, President Corporate Affairs for E.I.H., is present in person.
On November 18 the High court stayed the executive order of Himachal Pradesh Government for proceeding against the Oberoi group. The court held the state should not take possession of the Wildflowers hall near Charabar till the November 21 court hears the matter on November 21 in the impinged order passed by the Secretary Tourism on November 17, 2023.
Importantly, the state government was taking possession of Wild Flower Hall of Chharabra on November 18 when court gave the relief to the EIH ltd.
