Hyd police seizes unaccounted cash exceeding Rs 97L

Hyderabad, Nov 20: The city police confiscated unaccounted cash totaling Rs 97.3 lakhs on Sunday.

The sleuths of Commissioner’s Task Force North Zone, in collaboration with Panjagutta Police, apprehended Manda Anil Goud (31), a car driver from Warangal district, and Arpula Ravi (35), a car driver from Mahabubnagar, during a routine vehicle check at Panjagutta.

The individuals were found transporting unaccounted cash amounting to Rs 97.3 lakhs, as stated in a police report.

Upon interrogation, Manda Anil revealed that he works as a driver for a person named Raju, a Civil Contractor. Acting on Raju’s instructions, Anil and another driver, Arupula Ravi, collected Rs. 97.30 lakhs from Tirumal Reddy’s office in Somajiguda. They were en route to deliver the funds to Tirumal Reddy’s office at Sai Datta Constructions, Sahakara Nagar, Hanmakonda.

Their journey was interrupted near Green Land Traffic Signal in Punjagutta, where Task Force North Zone intercepted and seized the aforementioned cash.
