New Delhi, Nov 18: Inaugurating the Silver Jubilee function of the Delhi branch of the renowned Kerala-based Santhigiri Ashram here on Friday Lt Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena said the Ashram has contributed a lot to the empowerment of the youth and women as the path to a brighter future for the country.

‘’Throughout my years of observation, Santhigiri Ashram has consistently upheld the tenets set forth by the beloved Navajyothi Shree Karunakara Guru, the founding Guru of the Ashram. It now stands as a global beacon of spirituality and cultural harmony through the three vehicles of Annadhanam, Athurasevanam, and Athmabodhanam.

‘’Moreover, the Ashram has focused on the empowerment of youth and women as the path to a brighter future for country,’’ Saxena said.

On the momentous occasion Saxena stressed that the Silver Jubilee celebrates the empowerment of Naari Shakti by Santhigiri Ashram, following as it does the Vijayadashami Sanyasai Vaarshika Deeksha Mahotsav event in October, when 22 dedicated Brahmacharinis were honoured with Sanyasi Deeksha.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had greeted the newly anointed Sanyasinis and described the Ashram as a centre for women empowerment, he said.

The inaugural function was presided over by Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan who said Santhigiri Ashram is fulfilling the vision of Navajyothi SreeKarunakara Guru for the welfare of humanity, adding that the Guru’s tenets of Annadaanam(Food for all), Athurasevanam (Healthcare services) and Athmabodhanam (spiritual realisation) ensure physical and spiritual well being.

Saxena said the Santhigiri Ashram, located at Saket, here has been rendering yeoman’s service to humanity and comes as a ray of hope for many with renewed hope and new found opportunities.

Santhigiri Ashram, Saket Branch serves as a centre for coordinating myriad of spiritual, cultural and holistic healthcare activities in addition to spiritual pursuits. The centre is actively engaged in encouraging communities through skill development and public healthcare initiatives, particularly in the regions of North and North-East India.

Earlier, Her holiness Shishyapoojitha Amritha Jnana Thapaswini, the present Guru Apparent of Santhigiri Ashram, was warmly welcomed by devotees amid prayers and traditional music and dance.
