New Delhi, Nov 8 : – Delhi is grappling with a severe air quality crisis, with the overall air quality index reaching 418 on Wednesday morning.
According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), specific areas in Delhi reported alarming AQI levels:
- Anand Vihar: 452
- RK Puram: 433
- Punjabi Bagh: 460
- ITO: 413
- Narela: 448
- Bawana: 462
- Rohini: 451
The situation extends to neighboring cities:
- Noida: 409
- Gurugram: 370
- Faridabad: 396
- Ghaziabad: 382
In response, Delhi’s Environment Minister, Gopal Rai, conducted a meeting on Wednesday to address the implementation of Supreme Court observations regarding an odd-even car rationing scheme.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) reported shallow fog in the morning, with the sky expected to partially clear in the afternoon and evening. Temperatures are projected to range between 31 and 16 degrees Celsius.
Amid escalating concerns, Arvind Kejriwal proposed the suspension of Delhi Pollution Control Committee Chairman Kumar, accusing him of halting a pollution source study in the city.
