Badaun (UP), Nov 7: Bodies of a mother-daughter duo were found hanging from the ceiling under mysterious circumstances in Bilsi area Badaun district in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said on Tuesday.
Police sources said that the incident took place in Bairmai Bujurg village, where the bodies of Kusum (52) and her daughter Mauni (20) were found hanging from the ceiling in their house late on Monday night. “After being informed by the villagers, the police reached the spot and sent the bodies for postmortem examination,” they said.
After visiting the spot, Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr OP Singh said that three days ago Kusum’s son Anil eloped with a girl from the village, after which a case was lodged at Bilsi police station. “Information has been received that Anil’s mother Kusum and sister Mauni hanged themselves and committed suicide,” they said.
He said that the matter is being investigated. “Further action will be taken on the basis of the autopsy report,” he said.
