The integrated draft rolls, slightly lower than those published in May, have been made available in designated locations, primarily polling booths hosted in school buildings, and on the ECI portal.
Chief Electoral Officer Satyabrata Sahoo, after releasing the draft rolls, mentioned that two copies would be provided to recognized political parties by the District Election Officers. Sholinganallur Assembly constituency in Chengalpattu district continues to hold the highest number of voters in the state, with 6,52,065, while Kilvelur in Nagapattinam district has the lowest with 1,69,030 voters.
The draft reveals 137 voters aged over 120 years, 381 in the 110-119 age group, and 15,788 in the 100-109 age group. Over 2.12 lakh fall in the 90-99 age range, approximately 12.81 lakh in the 80-89 bracket, and 39.12 lakh in the 70-79 age group.
Special campaigns are scheduled for November 4, 5, 18, and 19 at designated locations, offering forms for inclusion/deletion/linking of Aadhaar with EPIC/modification/transposition of entries in the electoral rolls.
On the issue of double entries, a software system will detect such cases, and verification through registered post will be initiated if needed. Mr. Sahoo emphasized an increase of approximately 100 polling booths and addressed the inclusion of 3.94 lakh first-time voters in the 18-19 age group, with applications accepted for inclusion once they turn 18.”
