Chennai, Oct 28 – Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK Chief M.K.Stalin, in response to criticisms from the Raj Bhavan on the ruling DMK’s Dravidian model governance, has made a “request” to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Stalin urged them not to transfer Governor R.N. Ravi from his post at least until the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, citing potential advantages for the DMK.
The ongoing discord between the DMK government and Raj Bhavan encompasses various issues, including clashes over sanatan dharma, the approval of Bills from the State Assembly, and the retention of an arrested Minister in the Cabinet without a portfolio.
The DMK and its allies have called for the recall of the Governor, staging protests in the Parliament complex to emphasize their demand.
Stating that Governor Ravi, by critiquing DMK’s Dravidian model, has essentially campaigned for the party ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, Stalin asserted the advantage it would bring to the DMK. He emphasized that despite the Governor’s remarks, the people of Tamil Nadu would not take him seriously.
While officiating a wedding in a DMK party functionary’s family on Friday, Stalin indirectly commented on individuals occupying high posts and questioning the Dravidian ideology, referring to such positions as a “waste.”
Highlighting an opinion poll predicting a substantial victory for the opposition-led INDIA. bloc in the upcoming Assembly elections in five states, Stalin asserted that the political climate would signal the end of the BJP-led government at the Centre in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, similar to the DMK’s victories in previous elections.
In conclusion, Stalin urged DMK cadres to remain vigilant, work diligently, and stay united to ensure victory in all 40 seats—39 in Tamil Nadu and one in Puducherry—in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, aiming to unseat the BJP-led government.
