Bengaluru, Sep 6 , Pro-Hindu activists lodged a complaint against Tamil Nadu Minister Udayanidhi Stalin for his anti-Sanatana Dharma comments, at Cubbon Park police station here on Wednesday.
Udayanidhi sparked off a controversy when he advocated annihilation of Sanatana Dharma and compared it to diseases like Malaria and Dengue.
“Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s son Udayanidhi Stalin has intentionally insulted Sanatana Dharma to incite communal hatred and riots in the society. His statements have hurt the religious faith of many,” the letter written in Kannada by Sri Ram Sena Karnataka read.
Meanwhile, an FIR also was lodged against Udayanidhi by Uttar Pradesh police for his outrageous comments, hurting the sentiments of the majority Sanatanis.A case also has been filed by Uttar Pradesh police against Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge for backing Udayanidhi.
Both the leaders have been booked at the Civil Lines Police Station in Kanpur under IPC sections 295 A (deliberate and malicious acts to outrage religious feelings) and 153 A (promoting enmity between different religious groups).
Udayanidhi remained defiant on his anti-Sanatana Dharma remarks, and yet again created another controversy by dragging President Droupadi Murmu name into the row.
“President Droupadi Murmu was not invited for the inauguration of the new Parliament building, that is the best current example of caste discrimination,” he said responding to a pertinent question.
