Condolences Pour in as Spiritual Leader Bangaru Adigalar Passes Away

Chennai, Oct 20 – The demise of spiritual leader Bangaru Adigalar has prompted expressions of grief from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The Tamil Nadu unit of the BJP has canceled all party events for the next two days as a mark of respect to the departed spiritual leader.

Prime Minister Modi, in a social media post, expressed deep sorrow at the passing of Shri Bangaru Adigalar Ji. He acknowledged Adigalar’s rich spiritual life and compassion, describing it as a guiding light for many. Modi highlighted Adigalar’s tireless service to humanity and his emphasis on education, stating that his work would continue to inspire and guide generations. He extended condolences to Adigalar’s family and admirers, ending with “Om Shanti.”

Similarly, Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed his deep sadness over the demise of Padma Shri Bangaru Adigalar Ji, recognizing him as the head of Melmaruvathur Siddhar Peedam. Shah praised Adigalar’s spiritual insights that went beyond ritualistic practices and offered sincere condolences to his family and followers in this hour of grief.

Meanwhile, BJP State Chief K. Annamalai announced the cancellation of all party events, including the resumption of his state-wide padayatra, as a mark of respect for ‘Amma,’ as Bangaru Adigalar was affectionately known. In a social media post, Annamalai conveyed his sadness over the news and announced the cancellation of all party programs for the next two days. He requested understanding from the public and party members regarding the change in the date of the padayatra.

Leaders from various political parties, including BJP National President J.P. Nadda, Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami, and others, have also expressed their condolences. Stalin announced that the funeral of Bangaru Adigalar would be held with full state honors on Friday and that he would personally visit Melmaruvathur to pay his last respects.
