Hyderabad, Oct 14: Koppu Basha, the President of the Telangana BJP Scheduled Caste Morcha, has strongly criticized Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) for what he claimed to be a pattern of deception during every election.
Basha alleges that KCR uses various tactics under the guise of welfare schemes to secure votes from the Dalit community.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Basha highlighted that KCR had invited Dalits in 16 buses from each village and four buses to Pragati Bhavan during the Huzurabad by-elections. During this meeting, KCR discussed the “Dalit Bandhu” program. Even after two years, it was not implemented fully.
Basha pointed out that CM KCR pledged in assembly to provide Dalit Bandhu assistance to 2 lakh families annually but has failed to fulfill even half of that commitment.
Moreover, wherever the Dalit Bandhu scheme is implemented, BRS public representatives and leaders are reportedly selecting beneficiaries unfairly. This has caused division and friction among Dalits, instigating them to turn against each other and undermining the unity of the community.
Basha cited numerous examples of such injustices, especially in areas represented by Minister of Welfare Koppula Eshwar. He also noted that BRS leaders are allegedly extracting substantial commissions from Dalits when Dalit Bandhu benefits are granted.
Basha expressed his concern about KCR’s conduct and questioned why the Chief Minister was procrastinating on implementing the promises made to the Dalit community. He suggested that KCR seemed to derive perverse pleasure from toying with the emotions of Dalits.
Basha asserted that Dalit Bandhu is just one of many deceptions orchestrated by KCR to the detriment of Dalits. He called on educated, intellectual, and scientific members of the Dalit community to unite with the BJP and help prevent KCR from deceiving Dalits any further.
