Srinagar, Oct 7: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha shared encouraging statistics, revealing a remarkable 350% increase in the number of foreign tourists visiting the region compared to the previous year. The announcement was made during an interaction with members of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) – Greater India Chapter in Srinagar.
During the address, Lt Governor Sinha highlighted the transformative journey of Jammu and Kashmir under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance, emphasizing the rapid expansion of the economy within a short span. He expressed pride in the region’s shift from decades of damage to prosperity, creating an environment conducive to diverse businesses, start-ups, and entrepreneurial success.
Jammu and Kashmir, once synonymous with challenges, is now recognized as a socio-economic miracle, providing abundant investment opportunities across sectors. The Lt Governor invited young industry leaders to be partners in the development journey of the region.
Addressing queries during the interaction, Sinha underscored the global recognition of J&K on the tourism map, with 1.67 crore tourists visiting the Union Territory until September this year. He applauded the YPO members for their contributions to the country’s growth and encouraged them to engage in the ongoing development initiatives in Jammu and Kashmir.
